Jojo Santo Tomas is the fifth of seven children of the late Jose C. Santo Tomas and Rose L.G. (familian Nacha) Duenas Santo Tomas. Jojo was born and raised in Tamuning and at his grandma Engracia Camacho’s home in Dededo.
Jojo‘s career as a reporter began in 1987 with the Pacific Daily News and he has also worked at other media organizations. His history includes coverage of the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and London Olympics in 2012, and he has chronicled Guam’s food scene since before chefs were celebrities. He took a two-year break from writing to try his hand at cooking professionally before returning to his first passion. Today he writes “Boy, Go Eat” — a weekly column appearing each Thursday in the Pacific Daily News.
He currently lives in Kowloon, Hong Kong, where he moved in April 2013.
